7 Delicious Ways to Incorporate Greens into Your Diet

Greens Powder NZ

Leafy greens are jam packed full of health benefits. They are nutrient dense, so they are packed full of vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, antioxidants and other plant nutrients that help support your best health.

Everyone knows we should "eat our greens", but putting this into practice can be easier said than done.

Here are some ways to sneak greens into your diet without compromising your taste buds:

Kale Chips

Is there anything better than crunchy, snackable raw kale chips? When encased in a delicious coating and dehydrated until crisp, kale morphs from a fibrous leafy green into delectable finger food.

Soups

Soups are a great vehicle for leafy greens. Stir a big handful of watercress into a soup or stew during the last three minutes of cooking.

Smoothies

Whether it is simply adding a handful of spinach or kale to your traditional morning smoothie or testing out a new recipe, getting your greens in first thing in the morning is a fantastic way to start the day. If your looking for some new inspiration, you can checkout Cress Valley's New Zealand Super Greens with Kawakawa, Manuka Leaf and Watercress. Our Super Greens smoothie is packed full of New Zealand superfoods to give you the best start to your day.

Add Watercress to an Omelet

Jump-start your day with a dose of greens. Add a handful of chopped watercress to your favourite omelet. It's simple, convenient, tasty and extremely healthy!

Pesto

Basil's not the only leafy green for pesto! Replace half or more of the basil in any pesto recipe with the leafy green of your choice.

Tip: Tender baby spinach leaves taste great, but feel free to get adventurous and experiment with stronger-tasting greens such as arugula, watercress, or mustard greens. Change up the nuts and herbs, too! Instead of pine nuts, try walnuts or pistachios, and/or use parsley or cilantro in place of basil.

Kimchi

Cabbage counts as a leafy green. Get your daily dose in the form of kimchi, an often-spicy fermented Korean condiment commonly made of napa cabbage.

Ultimate Smoothie Pack

One of the simplest and convenient ways to get added greens in is to take your daily Ultimate Smoothie Pack. Cress Valley Ultimate Smoothie Pack includes New Zealand Super Greens Powder and New Zealand Super Fruits & Veggies Powder to boost your energy and improve your mental clarity. Plus there is also Fibre Synergy to help support healthy digestion and improve the bioavailability of the super greens and super fruits & veggies.
